Ruma Toru Otewa
From the Ruma Toru Otewa School blog:"Our school entered a colouring competition run by Te Wananga o Aotearoa to celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori. Anna from room 3 got second place in the year 7 and 8 section. Davina and Tiaki from Te Wananga o Aotearoa paid a surprise visit to Anna at our assembly on Friday the 3rd to present her with her wonderful prize. They also very generously gave Otewa School the opportunity to choose some books from their extensive book selection. Kaitoa Anna."Thanks for entering Anna and Ruma Tora Otewa!

Certificate in Vocational Preparation (Police)
In July 2009 TWoA held a Police Information Seminar at there campus in Mangere. Over 180 people attended and we had 110 formal Police applicants register for the Vocational Police Pilot Programme. From here the Police did their individual checking process and then they allowed us invite 76 individuals back to test (physical and academic). Once this formal part of the process was completed we (Police & TWoA) invited back 47 people to participate in a 15 minute interview. It was agreed that we would only take 25 students and in the end we selected 29 back to formally start with us on this new and exciting journey with Te Wananga o Aotearoa and the Police Service.
Upon graduating students will have attained the qualifications outlined below:
- Advance Defensive Driving Certificate.
- Police Swim test.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Graduation of Programme.
- Completed Police Test. (not necessarily passed).
This course has been definitely driven with Māori ontology and epistemological pedagogy and we invite our wider whanau that maybe interest to come ask us some questions about this knew course. For more information about this programme contact 0800 355 553 - Monday - Friday
