About Us
We believe that immersion in Māori culture is the most effective way to learn. Our tauira gain more than a qualification – they also develop a deep respect for Māori culture and values.
Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is the waharoa (gateway) to mātauranga Māori, the knowledge and wisdom of Aotearoa. We offer certificate, diploma, and degree level qualifications across Aotearoa. Our approach is inclusive, welcoming tauira of all backgrounds and levels of experience.
We provide a supportive and safe learning environment where tauira can learn from each other and nurture their sense of identity, culture, and community. We believe that by sharing and growing knowledge and passion for te ao Māori, we can help build a more respectful and inclusive society.
