Te Tohu Reo Rumaki is a year-long intensive programme that will help you develop your reo Māori to a conversational level.
Designed around principles of language revitalisation, Te Tohu Reo Rumaki will give you the tools to maintain your reo skills long after the programme has ended.

If you want to keep studying te reo Māori, you can enrol in Te Aupikitanga ki te Reo Kairangi.
If you want to pursue teaching as a career, you can apply for He Korowai Ākonga - Bachelor of Primary Teaching.
Want to pursue employment? These pathways may be open to you:Some of your learning time will be kaiako-directed. Your kaiako will guide you through instruction and learning activities at a scheduled time and place.
The rest of your learning time will be activity-directed. Activity-directed learning is self-guided in your own time and space.
Some learning activities will need to be completed online. You’ll need to have access to an internet-connected device to participate in this programme.
This is a full-time programme that consists of 120 credits.
The programme is delivered over 40 weeks, which means you’ll be expected to commit an average of 30 hours per week to your study.
800 learning hours will be kaiako-directed. These hours will be split between:
400 learning hours will be activity-directed. This means you will be expected to complete activities in your own time for an average of 10 hours per week.

Starting tertiary study or work-based learning for the first time? You may be able to get Fees Free after you complete your first eligible qualification or programme.
Fees Free covers the cost of your fees for the final year of study or final two years of work-based learning, up to $12,000.
