Manaakitanga and whanaungatanga underpin this campaign to welcome back our tauira and kaimahi as valued library clients, return essential educational resources to active circulation, and remove financial barriers to further borrowing.

Whakahoki taonga: Retrieve high-demand and high-value books and other materials, so they are available for use by current and future generations of tauira and kaimahi and can be RFID tagged.

Tautoko tauira: Eliminate outstanding library fees and account blocks to ensure tauira and kaimahi continue their academic journeys without stress.

Whakapai raraunga: Reconcile missing physical assets within our library system before the end of Semester B 2026.

Duration: Tuesday, 1 September to Friday, 30 October 2026.

Scope: Full administration fee and/or replacement cost waiver on all late items, regardless of how long they have been overdue/missing. Any patron blocks are removed.

Incentives: Returners of overdue items will be entered into a weekly random draw for a Te Wānanga o Aotearoa 1-litre thermo-water bottle (valued at $30) and a $30 Pak’nSave voucher! Return your books early and your name will remain in the draw during the subsequent weeks of the campaign.

Fines and fees removal: Fees will be cleared from tauira or kaimahi accounts on the same day that items are returned to the library, if possible.

In person: Items can be dropped off to any of our 6 campus libraries at Porirua, Hokowhitu (Palmerston North), Mangakōtukutuku (Glenview, Hamilton), Waiwhero (Rotorua), Tūkārere (Tauranga) and Māngere (Auckland).

By post: The library will cover the cost of return postage during the amnesty campaign period:

1. Request a courier bag: Request a pre-paid Track & Trace courier label and bag via library@twoa.ac.nz or call us on 0800 355 553 from 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
