He Hokinga Kāinga Ora
A return to an existing home
The name of our Kaikohe campus, He Hokinga Kāinga Ora, was gifted by Hoeta Maxwell and Koko Hotere. It speaks of “a return to an existing home”, a reflection of our second journey back to Kaikohe.
This kōrero speaks to the reconnection with a place that already holds memories and meaning. For tauira and whānau, our campus is a familiar homecoming. It is a space of belonging, learning, and growth.
Here in Kaikohe, He Hokinga Kāinga Ora reminds us that education reaches beyond the classroom. For our whānau, education is about connection, respect, and growth for our people.
