Our local story
Since 2005, Te Wānanga o Aotearoa has called Heretaunga home. Our Toimairangi campus in Hastings is more than a place to study – it's a hub for creativity, whānau connection, and lifelong learning.
Here you’ll find a welcoming space where toi and mātauranga flourish. Many of our programmes are based in the arts, with classrooms, workshops, and galleries alive with the work of tauira, kaimahi, and the community.
The name Toimairangi acknowledges the creativity and inspiration nurtured here, connecting our people to both past and future aspirations. We continue to strengthen relationships with local iwi, hapū, and community partners to support whānau transformation through education.
