Raroera campus
Our story
Raroera Campus takes its name from Raroera Pā, once the home of Kīngi Pōtatau Te Wherowhero, the first Māori King. This name connects our campus to the enduring strength of the Kīngitanga and the whakapapa of our tūpuna.
Before it became a campus, this site was once the Te Rapa Motor Hotel. Te Wānanga o Aotearoa purchased the property and transformed it into a whare wānanga – a place where whānau now come to learn, connect, and succeed.
Today, Raroera is a welcoming and supportive space where tauira achieve their goals in an environment that values culture, history, and the future of learning. With over 30 years of service to our community, we continue to grow pathways for tauira in Hamilton and beyond.
