Build capability that lasts
Te Arawai helps organisations grow the knowledge, confidence and cultural capability of their people. As part of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, we bring more than 40 years of experience in transformational education to the partnerships we build today.
We work alongside iwi, businesses, government and communities in Aotearoa and beyond, taking the time to understand what matters to your people, where you want to go and how learning can help you get there.
Learning shaped around your organisation
Every organisation starts from a different place. You may want to strengthen confidence in te reo Māori and tikanga, support your leaders, build stronger relationships or create a longer-term learning pathway for your people.
We can help you find learning that fits your organisation and gives participants practical ways to grow their knowledge and confidence.
This could include:
Learning for leaders, teams or groups across your organisation
Programmes that build confidence in te reo Māori, tikanga and te ao Māori
Pathways that support people to keep developing over time
Tailored, in-house or flexible delivery options
Our goal is to help people understand more, feel more confident and put what they learn into practice.
Learning grounded in kaupapa Māori
Te Arawai is part of Te Wānanga o Aotearoa. Our approach is grounded in mātauranga Māori and shaped by decades of experience working with people, whānau and communities across Aotearoa.
We believe learning should connect with people and have value beyond the learning space. That means helping participants build knowledge they can use in their everyday mahi, relationships and decision-making.
For organisations, that can mean stronger cultural confidence, better relationships and people who feel more prepared to engage in Māori contexts.
Building capability over time
Meaningful capability takes time to grow. A single learning experience can be a good place to start, but lasting change comes when people have opportunities to keep learning, practising and building confidence.
We can work with you to explore what that pathway could look like.
For some organisations, that might mean beginning with foundational learning. For others, it could mean developing leaders, strengthening team capability or creating a programme of learning over a longer period.
The pathway depends on your people and what you are working towards.

You do not need to have the whole pathway mapped out before you talk to us. Tell us what you want to strengthen, what your people need and where you want to go. We will work with you to explore what learning could look like for your organisation.
