Building, Construction & Allied Trade Skills
Tirohanga Whānui
Step into the trades with confidence
Get the foundations the industry needs: health and safety, tool skills, accurate measuring and calculations, reading and using project documents, and working well as part of a build team. In our workshop you’ll plan and complete small BCATS projects from start to finish, practising the processes, language, and standards used on real sites.
You’ll also strengthen your literacy, numeracy, and communication for the trades, learn about different roles across construction, and learn how to look after tools, materials, and yourself on the job.

Mā te mahi ka ako
Learn by doing
We keep it simple: learn a skill, try it, then use it on small builds. Most of your learning will happen in the workshop through real build tasks. You’ll:
sketch
plan
make two BCATS projects under supervision
practice tool care, site safety, and tidy workmanship
Classroom time backs this up with the language, maths, and documentation skills you need to perform on site.
