Your reo journey is strengthened through active practice and immersion. You’ll:
Take part in regular noho marae and wānanga, where reo and tikanga come alive in authentic settings
Engage in group discussions, debates, and storytelling that stretch your reo in both formal and informal contexts
Explore historical events, pūrākau, and waiata, applying your reo to cultural knowledge and research
Practice kupu whakanikoniko (figurative and expressive language) to enrich your speaking and writing
Contribute to marae-based learning experiences, from pōwhiri processes to hui roles, building confidence in leadership and cultural settings

Entry criteria
You can enrol if you:
Are 16 years or older
Are a NZ citizen or resident (includes Cook Islands, Niue, Tokelau) or Australian citizen/permanent resident
Currently reside in New Zealand
Have completed a Level 4 te reo Māori qualification OR
Pass an assessment of your reo level OR
Successfully completed the Pre-Entry Assessment (PEA) - direct entries only
Attend an interview or information hui with the kaiako
